My New Training Friend

Posted by socalrunnergirl on October 19, 2006

I heard about the Suunito T6 training watch from Krissy Moehl’s blog and I was intrigued.  In a sense it’s very similar to the Garmin, Polar offerings, Timex Bodylink, etc.  However, it has some features that go above and beyond that such as Vo2Max, EPOC, etc.  Granted, those measurements are estimated from your heart rate but still.  How cool is that?  The manuals says Vo2Max measurements are 92% accurate or something like that.  I have been wanting a watch like this for a while and have been quite happy with my Nike+ in the mean time.  But I’m going to give it a shot.  I found one + the speed/distance add-on for less than most places sell just the watch.  Brand new on ebay.  Gotta love that site.

I should get it some time next week and I’ll start giving it a go on training runs.  I’ll be sure to post a review when I try it out!

I also dumped a lot of money at Sephora and Express over the weekend.  I have a shopping addiction.  I think something is wrong with me.

Happy Shopping.  err.  I mean running,
Jessica

    Hi Jessica,
I just bought a T6 last week. Prior to doing so I did a lot of research. The biggest thing I discovered was places that sell it cheaply are not authorized dealers meaning Suunto will not warranty the watch. If something happens you have to send it the online dealer. I got mine from REI (an authorized dealer) and have the peace of mind that if anything happens, having it repaired or excahnged will be no problem!
