No mountain lion sightings on my ride last night but I did spot some tracks. It was a lonely and creepy ride most of the first 8 miles (which were all on trail – last 2 on pavement). I managed to nearly get lost a couple times since I have never rode the ridges above Coto before. The hills were A LOT tougher than I thought though there were a few fun 30MPH downhill sections. One trail was so steep and so sandy I don’t think anyone could even run up it. I walked and pushed my bike up this very narrow trail with cliffs on either side. It was sorta surreal. Oh – and this is my bike in this stock photo. Mine will probably never look that clean again, but there it is.
I enjoyed this ride. It felt pretty remote even though I had Coto to my left for a large portion of it. I had talked to Pam before the ride because we are having Sushi Friday and when she heard I was riding solo she made me call her when I finished. Good to know someone was looking out for me!
Also – did you hear about the bridge collapse in Minnesota? Totally insane. That is a MAJOR bridge that everyone uses at one point or another – some every day. You can check any news website for the story so I won’t post a link here. Very tragic and very sad.
Count Your Blessings,
Jessica
