Jeff and I finished 15th out of 34 teams in the coed race! There were also 5 teams that DNFd. That makes us 15th out of the 39 coed teams that started. We finished only 2 minutes behind the 14th place team. They started in the first wave so had a 2.5 minute head start on us. Technically we beat them in time but the race does this weird quiz to see what wave you get placed in. If you do well in the quiz you get a time bonus and start in an earlier wave. At least we didn’t start in wave 3 or 4!
We DID beat 7 of the teams that started in the wave before us which feels good
10 out of the 14 teams that beat us started in the first wave. I’d say not too bad for a cycling novice who hadn’t biked more than 23 miles before that day. I was definitely the slow link in the chain. Jeff could have done this race much faster. Plus we had mountain bikes. I’d like to do this race again next year and see what I could do on a team with road bikes or at least slicks on our bikes.
I am sooo sore today. Just about everywhere. Anyone know where I can get a good massage??
Happy Monday,

Congratulations on placing so well!
A good massage, eh? Maybe, Alexis the waiter can take care of that if Kayla sweet talks him.
It sounds like you had a great time at the urban assault. That, i think, was probably more important than placing higher.
