So… I ran 11 miles over the past two days and I’ve still been a bit sore from the long run on Saturday. It’s amazing what 14 miles can do to your body when you aren’t used to it. Now that I’m pushing the distance more I should start to adjust soon I hope
We had a great 5.5ish mile run last night in O’neill Park. Only problem is we sorta "lost" two runners. Long story short, it was a bit of drama and we did catch up with them at the end of the run.
The days are definitely getting shorter. We ran out of sunlight and had to use our headlamps toward the end of the run. Right around the point with about a mile left we come up this steep paved section of road and look out west over Newport Beach and the Pacific Ocean. The sun had already set and it was a fabulous view. You could see all the glistening lights of Newport Beach and boats in the harbor, and the sky was an amazing shade of red the stretched across the horizon. I had to stand in awe of it for a moment and it didn’t last long before it was all gone.
Four of us went to sushi after the run and had a great time. I shared my story from the club on Saturday night. But no.. she hasn’t called yet. Oh.. I’m sorry – did I not mention the name of the bar was called Girlbar? I’ve been told that my clear exclusion of pronouns made it pretty obvious anyway so I might as well include pronouns from now on. So any of you who have been reading my blog and weren’t half asleep probably already figured that out. The rest of you might have just spit out some coffee. Hopefully you didn’t burn yourself
I’m off to short recovery run after work tonight and Gretchen is in town soon and will be joining us for a run tomorrow night! Any of you visiting Orange County always know that you have someone to run with. I’ll get you hooked up!

Jessica, why do people get lost when they are on the trail with you?
I remember last year when I got lost, and I remember how you waited for me at the fork at West Horsetheif. Good call because I had no clue. Have a good run tonight and be safe.
glad you found the lost runners! Sounds like it was a gorgeous view
I agree with the lack of pronouns, but I didn’t want to say anything
I didn’t really notice the lack of pronouns, but I’m not exactly spewing coffee either. : ) That sunset view sounds awesome!
Was there a lack of pronouns?!?!Maybe….but either way – you rock! Hope to catch up with you on those trails soon! Darn it…I can’t seem to get out there anymore!
