Not a lot of running news lately. I am running more again which is good and my foot problems (appear) to be behind me. I ran a 4.5 road run last night with Kayla at Nike Run Club. We pushed each other pretty good. Normally I could never push her but she hasn’t been running the last few weeks and pushing her wiped me out big time. It was a good & fun run.
Here’s a round up of some current and upcoming movies you may or may not have heard about. I haven’t seen any of these yet but want to see all of them.
Extreme Sports – "Steep"
Out on: Dec 21
I would never do this, but some people consider ultrarunning extreme. Us ultrarunners probably share something in our personality with these skiers.
Thriller/Wicked Comedy – "Funny Games"
Out in: February
This looks quirky and wickedly funny while also being a thriller. My kind of film.
Thought Provoking – "Redacted"
Out on: Now
This just looks plain interesting.
Humanitarian – "Darfur Now"
Out on: Now
A true crisis is going on in this country. This film helps shed a light on that.
Love Story – "Love in the Time of Cholera"
Out on: Now
A love story that spans decades. How long would you wait for your true love?
Music – "Shine a Light"
Out in: 2008
I am not a big Rolling Stones fan but this documentary looks VERY interesting and well made. I guess it’s hard not to be when Marty directed it.
Comedy – "Get Smart"
Out in: June
Good silly comedy. Need some films like this. Steve Carrell is a great comedian.
Dramedy – "Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead"
Out on: Now
Philip Seymour Hoffman is an amazing actor. If you haven’t seen many of his films you need to put them on your "to watch" list.
Happy Running & Movie Watching,
Jessica

I saw ‘Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead’ last month and highly recommend it. You’re so right about Philip Seymour Hoffman.
