My Request to Nokia

Posted by socalrunnergirl on June 3, 2008

I’ve emailed this comment as well but I know sometimes things like that go into a great email abyss.

There are 3 things Nokia could do to make the SportsTracker application even better and blow away pretty much any competition.  It’s already a great application and with the capacity available in a phone it’s easy to blow away anything they can do in a watch.  The possibilities seem limitless.

  1. Elevation tracking.  I’d like to be able to see my total elevation gain/loss during a workout and at the very least – after my workout.  My Suunto does both and Garmin does the later.
  2. Sports band.  I know there are many Nokia phones that support SportsTracker so this might be tricky but maybe they could come out with a few sport band or something to hold your phone while running or biking.
  3. Heartrate monitor.  If they could incorporate a transmitter to hook up with a heartrate monitor that would help make this a killer tool.  I don’t personally use a heart rate monitor that often but many do and adding the feature will help this tool compete.
