The Republican’s list of music they can play has shrunk yet again.
The list so far:
- Boston
- John Mellencamp
- Jackson Browne
You can now add Heart to that list. Apparently Heart is not too happy about their song being tied into Sarah Palin’s image. Heart asked them to not use the song and that they did not have permission to use it. The response? They used it again.
I’m not quite sure why they would do that. I understand there may be a fine line with using a song without permission if you are not going to make any money off it and it’s very possibly this sort of thing happens all the time in presidential campaigns. I think that falls under some sort of fair use law. But to use it again after blatantly being asked NOT to use it?
Okay. I try to keep politics mostly off this blog so for now that’s it. But we are 60 days from the most important presidential election in our lifetime (tongue in check – don’t they always say that?), so I’m sure there will be more to come.
Happy Politicking,
