And how do I feel? Fine of course!
According to some scientists today marks the beginning of the end. They say this because today marks the beginning of quite possibly the largest science experiment ever when a British scientist fires up his 17 mile, donut-shaped underground tunnel in an attempt to simulate the environment just after the Big Bang (Theory) by smashing atoms together at around the speed of light. Doomsday warnings say this will create black holes and all sorts of unstable messes inside the earth that will ultimately lead to our end. Happy Wednesday huh?
For some good reading, check out the history of the End of the World. Apparently the world was going to end more times that you probably know. Us humans are a stubborn bunch aren’t we?

Before the first atom bomb test, some scientists were afraid that the resulting chain reaction that would destroy the entire earth.
Oh yeah, and running is bad for you!
I heard about this, and the concern that incredibly tiny black holes created by the device would gobble up all the matter in the planet. I met a physicist and asked him about it, he said not to worry. The pesky black holes would wink out of existance almost as soon as they appear.
My favorite End of the World scenario is the “grey goo” theory. Google that one. It basically says that man will creat microscopic nanobots which will self-replicate at an exponential rate, consuming all available matter as they do so, until all matter in the entire planet is converted into a mass of innumerable nanobots.
Should we be losing sleep over that one?
