10 miles!

Posted by socalrunnergirl on September 20, 2010

Good week last week!  Aside from being insanely busy lately (in a good way), I managed to run 10.1 miles last week, which equates to the most weekly miles I have run since April!  I’ve had a fairly steady increase in miles since I started running again the week of August 9th.   Weekly mileage has been 1.3, 4.5, 5.4, 7.3, 5.6 and 10.1.  Feeling pretty good so far!  I also managed an awesome 5 mile hike this past week and narrowly avoided a bad injury when I slid on some my and buckled my injured knee.  It hurt kinda bad at first but the pain quickly subsided and I was able to walk and run on it pain free for our last 2 miles.  I think I got by without re-injuring my knee but it was a close call..   Big news to come.. perhaps by the end of the week.

Happy Running & Dirty Feet,
Jessica

I don’t know how I happened upon your blog, but I’ve been reading it now and then for a bit. Congrats on the 10.1 mile week. that’s a big step for ACL surgery.

I’m also recovering from surgery to correct a “sports hernia” which included an “adductor release” (involves cutting loose some adductor muscle form the tendon. Last week I topped out at 9 miles. Accordong to my doctor I should’ve been back up to full speed by now, but hasn’t worked out. Fortunatley I can mountain bike and swim so I’ve been maintiang fitness there.

Anyway, enjoying your blog and good luck with the recovery.
Best of luck with your recovery.
