So it’s been 13 weeks since my knee injury and I was planning on “starting” to run at the 14 week (3.5 month) mark. Friday my knee was kinda sore and tired and was really my first “not great” day in quite some time. However, I had worked it out a bit at softball the night before with throwing and hitting infield, etc – taking it easy of course! But me leg isn’t used to that and really it was not just me knee that hurt but much of my lower leg.
Today I hit the gym and did a long workout that includes weights, 10 minutes of stairs and 20 minutes on the bike. I went shopping after and my knee felt so good I thought I’d go for a walk with Tobey. Shortly into the walk I decided to do a slow jog for about 100 meters and it felt pretty good! Then a bit later I did another…
All in all I did about 1.3 miles and about 6 sections of “running” which probably amounted to .5 miles. My knee feels good – we’ll see how it’s doing tomorrow. Sure felt good to be “sorta” running again!
