A short while ago I was contacted by "Born to Run" author Christopher McDougall who asks if I would read and review his book. I agreed and he sent me a transcript. The book actually gets released on May 5. Christopher is going to be in Portland on May 25th so if you are in Portland this will be your chance to meet and talk to the author, as well as get a copy of the book signed. The book's cover photograph comes from Luis Escobar who many of you may know (or know of).
Anyway... I have my BIG test tomorrow that I've been madly studying for. 250 questions on 10 different subject areas with 6 hours to finish the test. Yikes. Once that's done I'm looking forward to digging into Born to Run and will have a book review up in the next week or two. I'm flying to Orange County on Sunday so I'll definitely have some airport reading time.
Here's an excerpt from the Amazon product description:
most of all, pure inspiration, Born to Run is an epic adventure that began with one
simple question: Why does my foot hurt? In search of an answer, Christopher McDougall
sets off to find a tribe of the world’s greatest distance runners and learn their secrets, and
in the process shows us that everything we thought we knew about running is wrong."
Happy Running & Dirty Feet,
Jessica

Looking forward to your review. You're picking a good time to head down here. It's been cold (though, not Portland cold)which is perfect for running.
